We Serve: As Lions, we strive to make a difference to our local community, as well as communities worldwide. Here in Mount Barker, we have identified 5 key goals consistent with our club motto: Give what you can, when you can.

New members are always welcome! Lions membership is by invitation, but applications are encouraged from men and women of all backgrounds:

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be of good moral character and reputation.
• You will be asked to complete an application form, which will be considered by the Club Board. This form is normally counter-signed by a current Lion who can vouch for your character and suitability.

Before applying formally, you are encouraged to attend two or three of our meetings.

If you're interested in joining us:

• either contact our Membership Coordinator
• or fill out the online Registration of Interest form provided by Lions Australia, typing Mount Barker in the Club near you field of the form.

Is there a membership charge?

We try to keep our costs as low as possible. However, under the principles of Lions International, we cannot use our fundraisers to pay for general administration and member benefits.

The Mount Barker Lions therefore charge an annual membership fee ($80 in 2014-15, payable in 2 instalments) to cover:

• administration
• member benefits
• affiliation fees to Lions Australia and Lions International - these fees also support national and international Lions humanitarian projects.
